Project Management Essentials: Coaching Session with Ilyana Yasko

On Monday, 19 May, as part of the Empower to Employ project, we hosted a practical and inspiring coaching session dedicated to one of the most in-demand and transferable career paths today — project management. The event brought together job seekers, aspiring professionals, and individuals seeking a career shift, all eager to explore the fundamentals of project-based work in a supportive and empowering environment.
The session was led by Ilyana Yasko, a project management expert with more than 10 years of international experience across some of Europe’s most respected institutions — including the European Stability Mechanism, Clearstream Banking, and the European Investment Bank. With her strategic and structured approach, Ilyana guided participants through the essential components of project management, while also sharing insights from her real-world experience leading complex initiatives in multicultural and high-performance environments.
During the session, participants gained valuable knowledge on:
- The fundamentals of project management — what every beginner should know;
- Key skills and competencies needed to grow in the field;
- Educational paths and certifications (such as PMP, Prince2, and Agile frameworks);
- Tips on building a resume and LinkedIn profile tailored to project management roles;
- Practical strategies for gaining experience — even without a formal PM title.
What made this session especially valuable was Ilyana’s ability to combine practical tools with real-life stories, offering a transparent and motivating perspective for those entering the field. Her emphasis on adaptability, strategic thinking, and lifelong learning resonated deeply with participants at different stages of their professional journey.
The coaching session concluded with an open Q&A and networking circle, where attendees asked questions, shared ideas, and exchanged contacts in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was not only an educational experience but also a moment to connect with like-minded peers and professionals.
We sincerely thank Ilyana Yasko for her time, clarity, and generous sharing of knowledge. Her guidance gave participants a clear roadmap for developing themselves in one of the most versatile and globally relevant career paths.
This coaching session is part of #EmpowerToEmploy, a project by the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (LUCC), supported by FSE+ and the Ministère du Travail Luxembourg. It is committed to building confidence, skills, and opportunities for all — through training, connection, and empowerment.
