Empower to Employ: Financial Networking

On Saturday, 3 May, we hosted a special event for those interested in Luxembourg’s financial sector. The session brought together professionals, newcomers, and those eager to learn more about fund industry roles, compliance, and AML.
We started the day with a practical lecture by Kateryna Antypenko — an expert with extensive experience in Luxembourg’s financial sector, compliance, AML/CTF, and the investment fund industry. Kateryna shared knowledge, practical tips, and real-world insights to help Ukrainian professionals navigate the local job market.
As someone who deeply understands what it means to start over, Kateryna brings not only professional expertise but also sincere care for the community.
“What drives me to volunteer is a genuine desire to give back and honor my Ukrainian roots during this critical time. I’m committed with all my heart to helping fellow Ukrainians overcome the trauma of displacement and discover their professional potential here in Luxembourg, offering them not just career advice but also understanding and solidarity as they navigate this difficult transition” — Kateryna Antypenko
The discussion was open, honest, and filled with meaningful questions — a truly valuable session for everyone who joined.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a warm networking picnic. Tasty food, good conversations, and new connections made the atmosphere feel friendly and supportive. Project participants and guests shared experiences and encouraged one another.
In addition to technical knowledge, Kateryna highlighted the importance of soft skills in the financial sector — such as adaptability, critical thinking, and communication. She encouraged participants to view each interview or networking event not as a test, but as an opportunity to share their value. Many attendees expressed that they felt more confident and informed about career pathways in Luxembourg’s fund industry. Events like this provide both clarity and encouragement — helping people believe in their potential again.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us! And a special thanks to Kateryna for her inspiration, openness, and heartfelt support for our community.
