Empower to Employ: Building Confidence Through Personal Branding

On March 17, 2024, as part of our ongoing support for Ukrainian professionals, we hosted two practical workshops on personal branding. The sessions were led by Alexandra Tsyliya — an expert in strategic communications and personal branding. They focused on helping participants develop a strong personal brand voice and feel more confident both online and offline.
The atmosphere was open and supportive, encouraging participants to reflect on their strengths and rethink how they present themselves professionally. Many of them brought years of experience in areas such as law, education, IT, and communications. Yet, like many professionals entering a new country and culture, they were still searching for the right words — and the right tone — to speak about their achievements with confidence.
Together, we explored key questions:
How can I talk about my professional background in a way that feels honest, engaging, and clear?
How do I build trust when networking or speaking with potential employers?
How can I be visible on LinkedIn without feeling like I’m self-promoting?
Alexandra guided participants through reflective exercises and shared practical tools — from content planning techniques to AI platforms that support professional communication. But beyond tools and tactics, the session emphasized mindset: that personal branding is about clarity, consistency, and showing up authentically.
One message from Alexandra stood out:
“Confidence is not something you’re born with. It’s a result of choosing to show up — clearly, intentionally, and consistently.”
The workshops ended on a high note. Participants left feeling inspired and more empowered to tell their stories — whether through updating LinkedIn profiles, starting new professional conversations, or simply recognizing the value of their own voice.
We thank Alexandra Tsyliya for her thoughtful, energizing session and all participants for their openness, engagement, and motivation to grow.
Empower to Employ is an initiative by the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (LUCC), supported by the Fonds social européen plus (FSE+) and the Ministère du Travail Luxembourg. It helps Ukrainians under temporary protection in Luxembourg integrate into the job market by offering coaching, training, and mentoring opportunities.
The success of this session highlights the importance of combining emotional support with practical tools. When people feel seen, heard, and encouraged, they are more willing to step forward and act. That is what Empower to Employ is all about — creating the right conditions for growth.
