Beyond Reconstruction: A Strategic Dialogue on Ukraine’s Future
Private Executive Dialogue | Luxembourg | 20 May 2026
Exploring Ukraine’s role as a strategic partner for Europe through high-level dialogue on resilience, innovation, security and investment.
Beyond Reconstruction
Europe can provide Ukraine with capital, institutional expertise and access to global markets.
Ukraine contributes something equally valuable: resilience, innovation, operational experience and the ability to adapt under extraordinary circumstances.
What becomes possible when these strengths are combined?
This question shaped LUCC’s exclusive Private Dinner, bringing together senior representatives from European institutions, diplomacy, finance, defence, legal practice, innovation, municipalities and Ukrainian business for an off-the-record strategic discussion.
Rather than viewing Ukraine solely through the lens of reconstruction, participants explored its growing role as a strategic partner for Europe.
Discussions focused on Ukraine’s contribution to European competitiveness, security, industrial development and innovation. Businesses operating under wartime conditions continue to demonstrate exceptional agility, while Ukrainian institutions are implementing reforms that are reshaping investment opportunities and strengthening international cooperation.
A Shift in Perspective
As Evgenia Paliy, President of LUCC, noted:
“Ukraine is no longer discussed only as a country at war. Its experience is increasingly shaping Europe’s conversations on resilience, security, innovation and economic competitiveness.”
The private format encouraged open and candid exchanges, allowing participants to explore ideas beyond the constraints of formal conferences.
Miroslava Dudas, Partner at Brouxel & Rabia, described the evening as “powerful, practical and deeply human,” while Jochen Richter, President of Cercle Européen Renert ASBL, emphasised his enthusiasm for continuing the discussions through future joint initiatives.
Looking Ahead
While the conversations themselves remained confidential, the message emerging from the evening was clear: the future of Luxembourg–Ukraine cooperation will be built not only through financing reconstruction, but through long-term partnerships, shared expertise and joint strategic projects.
