Angela Sax
About
Mrs. Angela Sax is the Head of EBRD Ukraine Hub since September 2023, responsible for the Bank’s engagement in Ukraine through donor supported investments, policy support and external stakeholder coordination. With over 15 years of experience in leading, structuring negotiating and implementing a wide range of debt and equity projects, Angela was previously the Head of EBRD Moldova during 2018-2023. Under her leadership the Bank significantly increased its investments and their implementation in the country, with an unprecedented volume of EUR 525million in 2022, both, in private and public sector projects. In Moldova the Bank cumulatively invested EUR 2.1billion in 167 projects, with a portfolio of 64 projects of EUR 1.1billion. Angela joined the EBRD in 2006 at the Yerevan Resident Office in Armenia, where she successfully led a number of complex public and corporate projects and policy initiatives in municipal infrastructure, transport, agriculture, manufacturing and property sectors. Angela served as the acting Head of EBRD Armenia in 2017. Prior to joining the EBRD she worked on reform focused and private sector development projects in Armenia with international donor organisations including USAID and IMF. She holds an MBA degree from Nottingham University Business School and is a participant of 2004 Senior Executive Fellows programme at Harvard University Kennedy School of Governance.
