In March 2022, Andre Mitin arrived in Luxembourg without the language, without contacts, without any understanding of how things work here. He obtained an independent licence and, two years later, founded Lux Photo Pro — photography, video production, marketing and SMM. Today the team has grown to 10 people. Over the past year, Andre has conducted more than 50 interviews — and now sees the job market as an employer and the services market as the owner of an actively growing business.
In this session Andre will share, candidly, what the path of a Ukrainian in Luxembourg looks like from both sides of the table: as a candidate searching for a first job, and as a business owner now hiring others.
What the talk covers:
A step-by-step roadmap from the first week in the country to launching a company — year by year, decision by decision. Each stage comes with real cases, concrete numbers, mistakes, and what to do differently.
Key topics:
– Reaching a working level of the local languages without courses — what actually works
– The legal path: from indépendant to SARL — when, how, and what it actually costs
– How to find your first clients without an established network
– What an employer actually looks for in a CV, an interview, and beyond (insights from 50+ interviews)
– The mistakes that cost time and money — so you don’t have to repeat them
